Finnish[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Unknown. Relationship to Old Hight German runsa (running water, stream) has been proposed, but this is semantically distant, especially considering the Karelian and Ludic cognates runsas, ruznaz, meaning "sizable".

  • Hyphenation: run‧sas
