Italian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From s- +‎ bagliare (cf. abbagliare). The archaic bagliare is of uncertain origin; perhaps derived from a Vulgar Latin root *balūgiāre, from Latin balux, or from *valiare from variāre, or alternatively linked to an Ancient Greek [script?] (baliòs).

Verb[edit]

sbagliare

  1. to make a mistake
  2. to goof
