Etymology[edit]

A word coined by Saturday Night Live comedian Will Ferrell when doing an impression of The Actors Studio host James Lipton, in order to describe the performance of actor Charles Nelson Reilly on the Match Game. Perhaps influenced by scrumptious and -escent.
