Latvian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From a previous stem *ses- (whence the ordinal sestais; s > š probably caused by the final plural i, extended to this previously undeclinable stem by analogy), from Proto-Balto-Slavic *šéš, from Proto-Indo-European *swéḱs.[1]
