Etymology[edit]

From shkurt +‎ -e feminine marker. According to Orel, probably from a Germanic language and ultimately from Proto-Germanic *skurta, *skurti, also in Old Norse skyrta, Middle Low German schorte (shirt). From the same source of shkurt.[1]
