  1. Person who shoves; a pusher.
  2. (now chiefly historical) One who utters counterfeit money.
    • 1894, Hiram C. Whitley, In It, page 227:
      One of the gang of shovers arrested with Gurney gave information leading to the arrest of one David Kirkbride.
    • 1941 October, “Don't Take Any Wooden Nickles”, in Popular Mechanics Magazine, volume 76, number 4, page 162:
