  1. (intransitive, said of people) to exit (outside) in large quantities
    People were spilling out of the stadium after the game.
  2. (intransitive, said of emotions or feelings) to be released without constraint
    Abuse spilled out of her mouth.
  3. Used other than figuratively or idiomatically: see spill,‎ out.
    Be careful with that jug! The water is spilling out.
