transubstantiate (third-person singular simple present transubstantiates, present participle transubstantiating, simple past and past participle transubstantiated)

  1. (transitive) To change one substance into another; to transmute.
  2. (transitive) To change the bread and wine of the Eucharist into the body and blood of Jesus.
