Verb[edit]

učit impf (perfective naučit)

  1. (transitive or intransitive) to teach
    učit studenty češtinu/češtiněto teach the students Czech.
  2. (reflexive with se) to learn
    učit se češtinu/češtiněto learn Czech.

Usage notes[edit]

The personal object that is receiving information by being taught is in accusative (učit studenty, žáky, se/sebe). The object that the students are being taught can be in accusative or dative (učit někoho češtinu/češtině).
