  1. (anatomy) One of two otolith organs located in the vertebrate inner ear (the other being the saccule).
  2. (anatomy) The prostatic utricle (a small indentation found in the male prostate).
  3. (botany) A dry fruit similar to an achene, found in the beet and dock plants.
