Hungarian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Uses the same root as vezet with the agent suffix -ér. This root is from Proto-Finno-Ugric *wetä- (to lead); compare with Finnish vetää. The Finno-Ugric root may be related to Indo-European *wedʰ-, either as loan or through genetic relationship.[1][2]
