- This word is a homonym for the other spelling 'yogilates' which is a fitness technique created in 1997 by certified Pilates instructor Jonathan Urla. The technique combines elements of yoga and Pilates but also has unique functional movements and philosophical underpinnings of it's creator. The book on Yogilates was published in 2002 by HarperCollins.
