According to Perixanjan, from Middle Median [Term?], from Proto-Iranian *Rasta-. Compare Parthian 𐭓𐭎𐭕𐭊 (rstk /⁠*Rastak⁠/), Middle Persian 𐭫𐭮𐭲𐭪 (lstk /⁠*Rastag⁠/). The form Երաստ (Erast) is from Parthian.
