From the root ء ت ي (ʔ-t-y); compare أَتَى (ʔatā, to come, to bring).

      وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ ٱلَّذِي آتَيْنَاهُ آيَاتِنَا فَٱنْسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ الشَّيْطَانُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْغَاوِينَ
      wa-tlu ʕalayhim nabaʔa llaḏī ʔātaynāhu ʔāyātinā fa-nsalaḵa minhā fa-ʔatbaʕahu š-šayṭānu fa-kāna mina l-ḡāwīna
      And recite to them the news of him whom we gave [notice of] Our signs but detached himself from them, so Satan pursued him and he became of the misled.

      فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَا قَالَ لِفَتَاهُ آتِنَا غَدَاءَنَا لَقَدْ لَقِينَا مِن سَفَرِنَا هٰذَا نَصَبًا
      fa-lammā jāwazā qāla li-fatāhu ʔātinā ḡadāʔanā laqad laqīnā min safarinā hāḏā naṣaban
      So when they had passed beyond it, he said to his boy, "Bring us our morning meal. We have certainly suffered in this, our journey, much fatigue."
  3. (ditransitive) to give as a gift; to reward

      فَلْيُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّٰهِ الَّذِينَ يَشْرُونَ الْحَيَوٰةَ الدُّنْيَا بِالْآخِرَةِ ۚ وَمَن يُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّٰهِ فَيُقْتَلْ أَوْ يَغْلِبْ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا
      fa-l-yuqātil fī sabīli l-lāhi llaḏīna yašrūna l-ḥayāta d-dunyā bi-l-ʔāḵirati; wa-man yuqātil fī sabīli llāhi fa-yuqtal ʔaw yaḡlib fa-sawfa nuʔtīhi ʔajran ʕaẓīman
      Let those who barter the life of this world for the Hereafter fight in the Cause of Allah; and whoso fights in the Cause of Allah and is killed or obtains victory, we shall bestow upon him a great reward.
