From the root ر ض و (r-ḍ-w). Cognate with Hebrew רָצָה (ratsá).

رَضِيَ (raḍiya) I, non-past يَرْضَى‎ (yarḍā), passive participle مَرْضِيّ (marḍiyy) or مَرْضُوّ (marḍuww)

  1. to be pleased, to be satisfied (عَن (ʕan), عَلَى (ʕalā) with)
  2. to approve, to accept, to be content, to be satisfied (بِ (bi), فِي () with)
    يَرْضَى ٱلْكَسْلَانُ بِٱلرُّسُوبِ مِنَ ٱلنَّجاحِ.
    yarḍā l-kaslānu bi-r-rusūbi mina n-najāḥi.
    The lazy one accepts the failure instead of the success.
