قوس و قزح

Etymology[edit]

Mistaken form of earlier قوس قزح (qows-e qazah), from Arabic قَوْس قُزَح (qaws quzaḥ, literally bow of the pre-Islamic Arab god Quzah). It is not clear why the vowel shifted from /e/ to /o/.
