저 ←→ 져

Korean[edit]

Etymology 1[edit]

Equivalent to a contraction of (jeo, I; me, humble first-person pronoun) +‎ (-i, nominative particle). When the (-ga) allomorph of the nominative particle was introduced, it was attached to the already marked form of (jeo), producing this new allomorphy.
