In my opinion, Wiktionary pages are lacking æsthetically. Where the other language Wiktionaries use colours and images, we have greys and blacks and blues. This stylesheet will add more colour to your Wiktionary. To use it, add importScript('User:Internoob/colour.js'); to Special:Mypage/vector.js if you use the default skin.

The most immediate thing is the logo. It consists only of text. The text is black and grey on no background. As one user put it (don't ask who—I don't remember, and I paraphrase) "it looks like an HTML rendering mistake". I personally don't see why anyone would not want to change, but apparently some people don't. But because the logo is a separate critter, it is in a separate stylesheet, User:Internoob/booklogo.css. To use that stylesheet, add importStylesheet('User:Internoob/booklogo.css'); to Special:Mypage/monobook.js.

This stylesheet:

1. Adds images next to level 2 (language) headers in the main namespace. It does not use any images whose licences would require me to acknowledge their authors/creators because I can't really make them link with CSS.
2. Makes the level 2 headers in the main namespace have banana-coloured backgrounds with a pinkish bottom border.
3. Does not display horizontal rules in the main space. They are ugly.
4. Makes the [edit] buttons of all the headers the same size (13px).
5. Puts an arrow before {{also}}
6. Puts a box around the definitions

Browser compatibility

This stylesheet is known to work in Firefox and Safari 5 for Windows for the Monobook and Vector skins. The images don't work in Internet Explorer 7 and older. All the images work in IE8 if you don't use the Compatibility View. (To turn it off, go to Tools > Compatibility View Settings and de-select "Display all websites in Compatibility View" and "Include updated website lists from Microsoft", and don't add Wiktionary to the box.)

I don't know whether this works on any browsers other than the ones mentioned here.

Very nice. The pink and red in header colors is kinda ugly, though.

Yeah I also think the highlighted pink is pretty ugly. Maybe there's a better way.

Is it better now with a dotted pink border?

EDIT: I also changed the bottom border of the headers to a dark yellow.

I realized that that was hideous as well. Now it does this:

No. That tiny red line doesn't stand out enough. And the yellow headers is much better.

It could have any number of borders, any colour, dotted, solid, dashed, rounded corners, backgrounds, images...
