Borrowed from Old Median *xšaθrapāwan- (literally kingdom-protector),[1] which is cognate with Old Persian 𐎧𐏁𐏂𐎱𐎠𐎺𐎠 (x-š-ç-p-a-v-a /xšaçapāvā/); see there for more.
