Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Ancient Greek ἀντιπάθεια (antipátheia), noun of state from ἀντιπαθής (antipathḗs, opposed in feeling), from ἀντί (antí, against) + root of πάθος (páthos, feeling). Compare Russian антипа́тия (antipátija), Belarusian антыпа́тыя (antypátyja), Polish antypatia.
