дъжгꙗти

Old Novgorodian
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Proto-Slavic *dъždžati, from *dъ̀ždžь (“rain”) with Old Pskovian reflex *zdj > жг (zʹg) in comparison with the typical Eastern Old Novgorodian *zdj > *ждж (*ždž).[1] By surface analysis, дъжгь (dŭzʹgĭ, “rain”) + -ꙗти (-jati).
