шеше
Appearance

[edit]Etymology
[edit]Derived from шаш (şaş, “hair”). Compare Siberian Tatar цәц инә (“lit. hair mother”). Originated from the Turkic ritual of cutting child's hair, where this word referred to the person doing it. This person could be any family member, thus the diversity of meanings in Siberian Tatar dialects: цицә (“father, elder sister, young maternal aunt”), цәцәкә (“wife of parent's younger brother, aunt-in-law”), etc.[1]
Cognate with Kyrgyz чече (cece), Tatar чичә (çiçä, “second wife”), Bashkir сисә (sisə, “second wife”), also possibly Azerbaijani cicə, Turkish çiçe.
