Back-formation from חֶרְבּוֹן (kherbón, “failure, disaster”), which is a phono-semantic matching of Arabic خَرْبَان (ḵarbān, “broken, damaged, spoiled”), and a doublet of חֻרְבָּן / חורבן (khurbán, “destruction, ruin”) and חֲרָבוֹן (kharavón, “drought, heat”).

6. (colloquial, derogatory) to not give a shit [with עַל]

   הוּא מְחַרְבֵּן עָלָיו.

   hú m'kharbén aláv.

   He doesn't give a shit about him.
