Borrowed from Aramaic נזר (literally he abstained), compare Arabic نَاضْحَارَة (nāḍḥāra, literally he consecrated) and Arabic [script needed] (nazira, literally he showed reserve), Akkadian 𒈾𒉌𒌓𒊒 (nazáru, literally he cursed)
