Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit [Term?] (compare Maharastri Prakrit 𑀓𑀸𑀬 (kāya)), from Sanskrit काक (kāka). Cognate with Assamese কাউৰী (kauri), Konkani कावळो (kāvḷo), Gujarati કાગડો (kāgḍo), Marathi कावळा (kāvḷā), Sylheti ꠇꠣꠅꠅꠣ (xaooa).
