Etymology

    Derived from Prakrit हलु- (halu-, lightweight) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓𑁆𑀓- (-kka-) + -𑀓- (-ka-). Cognate with Nepali हलुको (haluko), Bengali হালকা (haloka). Related to Old Hindi लहु (lahu, light, small).[1]
