[edit]Inherited from Early Assamese তাই (tai), from Magadhi Prakrit 𑀢𑀸𑀏 (tāe, “by her”), from Sanskrit তযা (tayā, “by her (instrumental case)”). Cognate with Sylheti ꠔꠣꠁ (tai), Bishnupriya Manipuri তেই.
