Etymology

From ჯელა- (cela-) +‎ ა- (a-) +‎ ნწ- (nǯ-) +‎ -ენ (-en). Inherited from Proto-Georgian-Zan *c̣w- (to dip). Cognate with Georgian დაწობა (dac̣oba) and Mingrelian გეწუაფა (gec̣uapa).
