Etymology[edit]

From ḥꜣt (front) +‎ špswt (plural of špst (noblewoman)) in a direct genitive construction, thus ‘foremost of noblewomen’. A longer form of ḥꜣt-špswt is found as ẖnmt-jmn-ḥꜣt-špswt.
