ἀλείφω (aleíphō)

  1. (active voice, transitive) to anoint someone else (smear the skin with oil after bathing)
  2. (middle voice, intransitive, reflexive) to anoint oneself

Usage notes[edit]

Often appears with the adverb λίπα (lípa, richly) and with ἐλαίῳ (elaíōi, with oil, instrumental dative).
