Usage notes
[edit]- 澍 and 𫝺 usually used when the diameter of the spraying device is smaller, the area sprayed is smaller, or the duration of the spraying is shorter; while 噴 / 喷 and 濺 / 溅 are usually used in opposite situations or in general sense.[1] But actual usage varies from person to person.
- 霧 / 雾 and 浡 refer specifically to scatter tiny water droplets in the air, or squirting liquid from one's mouth.
- 掖 refers specifically to sprinkle liquid, seeds or crumbs from top to bottom. For example, when expressing "sprinkling seeds", one should say 掖種/掖种.[1]
