Etymology[edit]

Sino-Korean word from 過勞死, from 過勞 (overwork) + (death), an orthographic borrowing from Japanese 過労死 (karōshi).

    • Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
