[edit]Sino-Korean word from 病院, from 病 (“sickness”) + 院 (“house”). An orthographic borrowing from Japanese 病院 (byōin) and cognate with Jeju 벵완 (beng'wan).

- Phonetic hangul: [병(ː)원]
