    Inherited from Sanskrit दक्षि॑ण (dákṣiṇa), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *dáćšinas (right, righthand), from Proto-Indo-European *déḱs-i-no-s, from *déḱs (right side). Cognate with Pali dakkhiṇa.
