Etymology

From Proto-Anatolian *néǵnos, further etymology unknown. Cognate with Luwian 𒈾𒀭𒉌𒅀𒀭 (na-a-ni-ya-an, “of a brother”), Lycian 𐊏𐊚𐊏𐊆 (nẽni, “brother”).
