Chinese[edit]
Glyph origin[edit]
Unorthodox variant of 衛 originally found in Zhongwen Da Cidian 《中文大辭典》, a Taiwanese dictionary based on the Japanese Dai Kan-Wa Jiten.
This character is visually similar to 卫, the official simplified form of 衛 and its existence may have been influenced by the Japanese katakana ヱ (we).[1]
Definitions[edit]
For pronunciation and definitions of 𠀄 – see 衛 (“to guard; to protect; to defend; security guard; etc.”). (This character, 𠀄, is a variant form of 衛.) |
