@Erutuon What should we do about this? DTLHS (talk) 18:50, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@DTLHS: Maybe it would be best to have the handler return nil rather than give an error message. That will (hopefully) let the topic cat handler recognize the category, after the other handlers have tried. — Eru·tuon 18:55, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I might write some test cases for Module:auto cat. DTLHS (talk) 18:57, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That would be awesome. Maybe it would catch some of the errors that I have been generating. — Eru·tuon 18:59, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've done that. Unfortunately, this means that if someone tries to create a category for, say, "High German language", they won't get an error message telling them that that's not a valid canonical name. Hm. — Eru·tuon 18:58, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Added an error message for that. — Eru·tuon 19:06, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
