LLC (plural LLCs)

  1. (business, law, US) Initialism of limited liability company.
    • 2023 November 15, Kelsie Anderson, Jason Cother, Kristen Coates, “5 best states to form an LLC in 2024”, in CNN[1]:
In the context of LLC formation, your home state is the state where you originally registered (i.e., the domestic LLC). In general, LLCs are governed by the laws of their home states. So, for example, you can refer to your home state’s laws to resolve issues related to the internal affairs of your business.
  2. (computer networking) Initialism of logical link control, one of the two functions of a NIC.
  3. (US, taxation) Initialism of Lifetime Learning Credit.
    • 2025 May, “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill”, in United States House Committee on Ways & Means[2], page 43:
This provision adds requirements for the student and taxpayer (if filing on behalf of the student) to include their SSN on their tax return in order to receive either the AOTC or LLC under IRC section 25A.
