From Sundanese Parahiyangan, Priangan, perhaps influenced by Dutch Preanger.

  1. (historical) Preanger Regencies Residency (a former residency in Indonesia, roughly coterminous with southern West Java)
  2. (now) a geographic region corresponding to areas belonging to the former Preanger Regencies Residency in central and southern West Java
  3. Parahyangan (the mountainous cultural region of West Java)
