[edit]According to De Vaan, this suffix might be compared with the *CC-óy-ti ~ *CC-y-énti ablaut posited for certain Hittite ḫi-conjugation verbs such as 𒉺𒀀𒄿 (pa-a-i /pāi/, “to give, hand over, pay”).[1]
