Proto-Uralic[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Has sometimes considered to be a derivative of Proto-Uralic *peele (side). According to current knowledge, this is however to be reconstructed as Proto-Uralic *päle (from which Proto-Finnic *peeli), in which light a connection seems less likely.

Noun[edit]

*peljä

  1. ear
