Mordvinic proto-form

[edit]

@Rua: Are there any uralists in Wiktionary? Can they check the Mordvinic proto-form, for this is my ridiculous reconstruction that I made to fill a lacuna. Or delete it altogether, so as not to mislead people. -- Gnosandes (talk) 15:38, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Surjection: Can you reconstruct the Mordvinic proto-form? -- Gnosandes (talk) 11:15, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid not; @Tropylium might know better. — surjection?11:17, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@TheSilverWolf98: Can you help? -- Gnosandes (talk) 14:51, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Given as *čenžə in {{R:mdv:Bereczki:1986}}, perhaps more probably with *ä though (suggested by etymology, not contradicted by any data; most dialects of Erzya merge *e and *ä). The dialect variants as šenš are not clearly explained by this however. --Tropylium (talk) 14:59, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
