Insufficiently supported crap by UtherPendrogn. There might be a good place to move it, per Anglom on the talk page, otherwise it can be deleted. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 02:31, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I find it strange how you guys ban people for adding nonsense but then don't nuke the nonsense immediately afterwards. —suzukaze (tc) 03:12, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, but I know little of Celtic historical linguistics, so I could ban him for his outbursts, but not fix most of his work. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 03:13, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • As mentioned on the talk page, the correct reconstruction is probably *Gwodọðin; according to Wikipedia's article on Gododdin it's even attested in Old Welsh as Guotodin with /ɡw/. And the Latinized name Votadini is old enough that it's reasonable to assume the name existed in the Proto-Brythonic era. So it isn't really nonsense, but neither is it helpful since we don't need this stage for an etymology section. When Gododdin has an entry, its etymology can simply say "From Old Welsh Guotodin, from the name attested in Latin sources as Votadini" or something like that. Therefore, delete. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 07:30, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I had moved a bunch of these before he was banned, which of course triggered him to attack me as well. I guess I missed this one. I can take care of it. --Victar (talk) 01:12, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Cleaned up. --Victar (talk) 03:51, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
