Etymology

@Fay Freak, in my opinion the most interesting connection is with бисер (biser) and Ukrainian місюрка (misjurka) in Шанский Н. М., Журавлев А. Ф. // Этимологический словарь русского языка, Вып. 10, 2007, page 240. Vahag (talk) 14:10, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

@Vahagn Petrosyan: Yes, it means a glass pearl and a kind of helmet-armour with a net, likewise existing in Russian, not only in Daľ but also cited from some kind of expedition in Словарь Церковно-Славянскаго и Русскаго языка 1st ed. 1847 v. II p. 307. Direct relation is impossible, and with lacking alternative East Slavic forms they would have to be parallel borrowings from badly documented 16–17th century Turkic—where we suspect this /m/ ~ /b/ variation—, though I found some potential parallels in an Ukrainian toponym intriguing.
