@Atitarev, Cinemantique, Wikitiki89 What part of speech is ближе? Is it an adverb or short adjective? Benwing2 (talk) 00:19, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's a comparative, and we've already discussed what comparatives are. --WikiTiki89 00:22, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Wikitiki89 Thanks. I have a special POS for comparatives. Benwing2 (talk) 00:24, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
"Your shirt is closer to your body (than anything else)." It's an adjective (comparative degree).--Cinemantique (talk) 00:37, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Cinemantique We have already agreed that indeclinable comparatives, like ближе (see entry) are adverbs but they are comparatives of both adverbs (близко) and adjectives (близкий) (if both exist). Declinable comparatives, like лучший, худший are adjectives. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 01:48, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
