Well, that's interesting. Hebrew "oy" goes back over 2000 years? Hebrew is one language I cant understand and never will. The writing system just keeps me out. I will only add that unless there is some dispute about the proper pronunciation of this word, I think the "etytmology disputed" in the Yiddish section should be removed. If it's in the Bible I'd find it hard to believe that modern Hebrew, and even Yiddish, would have to borrow from Germanic to get this word. Soap (talk) 10:54, 5 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
