1. Isn't this word like 幹嗎 defined as "what is (someone) doing; what is going on"?
2. Did the Zhangzhou "boeh-nî" come from Barclay? If yes, shouldn't it be like a dated pronunciation?

1. Yeah, the definition should be tweaked. Douglas defines it as "whatever are you about? what do you want now?" 閩南話漳腔詞典 defines beh-ne̍eh as 為什麼.
2. It comes from Douglas, so maybe, yeah, it should be marked as dated.
