@Wyang Where did you got the lǎoguā pronunciation? Dokurrat (talk) 10:24, 21 September 2017 (UTC) I think I found it and sorry for bothering you.Dokurrat (talk) 10:27, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

No worries! :) Wyang (talk) 10:29, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Wyang, Dokurrat: 現代漢語詞典 has lǎo·gua (i.e. lǎogua). I think 兩岸詞典 is just unreliable for qingsheng. @Tooironic, can you check 現代漢語規範詞典 for what it says about the pronunciation? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 19:14, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung I used 現代漢語規範詞典 (second edition), which had lao3 gua1; scan of the entry is here. Wyang (talk) 21:46, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Wyang: Alright, thanks! That means I can't trust 現代漢語詞典 as much. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 22:08, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung Why? lǎogua is an of-course correct pronunciation. Dokurrat (talk) 02:36, 22 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Dokurrat I mean as a source of the "standard" pronunciation. Maybe 現代漢語詞典 is less prescriptive than 現代漢語規範詞典. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 02:37, 22 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung: Oh. Well, these two dictionaries sometimes treat words very differently, not only pronunciations. Dokurrat (talk) 02:41, 22 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
