Toneless?[edit]

@Tooironic MoE has two pronunciations: shùnxù and shùnxu. Do you know if the toneless version is standard for the adjective sense? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 00:00, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hard to say. None of the mainland dictionaries make this distinction. Either way, this sense seems purely dialectal. ---> Tooironic (talk) 05:56, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Tooironic Thanks for your response anyway. @Wyang Do you have any idea? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 22:51, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The adjective senses in Mandarin are toneless, and the other parts of speech are selectively toneless. Generally, the more colloquial a word is, the more toneless it becomes. I think the adjective senses are not MSC, and should be marked as Mandarin and others. Wyang (talk) 23:06, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
