Words such as businesswoman and tenniswoman are compounds, they don't make -woman an actual suffix. Binarystep (talk) 22:39, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Strong keep. "woman" isn't a word in French, so the compound point doesn't really fit here for me personally, as it exists solely to feminize an existing noun, with no meaning on its own in the language. I could see that more with businesswoman which was directly loaned from English where it's more debatable if it's a compound, but with words like rugbywoman, recordwoman, crosswoman, rowingwoman, velocewoman, perchwoman, cyclewoman, that don't exist in English, and the fact that it's decently productive (see the usage note at -man), makes it feel more like an actual suffix. My mind's been changed. If there are no objections, I'd like to withdraw this. Binarystep (talk) 00:18, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Keep I agree with AG202. 70.172.194.25 23:19, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Keep since woman isn't a word on its own in French. Glades12 (talk) 11:57, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
